Job Summary
Process member transactions, deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments via online terminals while balancing cash drawers and managing special requests like stop payments and wire transfers daily. Build financial relationships using a consultative approach to promote products, educate members on home banking services, and refer clients to specialized representatives. Maintain branch operations by opening and closing procedures, performing mail transactions, and assisting with training or cross-training in member services.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend detailed and sometimes technical instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to operate an on-line computer terminal
- Good working knowledge of the core computer system and email
- Experience with coin processing machine
- Experience with adding machine
- Comprehensive knowledge of the products, services, and procedures needed to process transactions
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for over ninety percent of work time
- Ability to closely examine documentation
- Analytical ability necessary to research and resolve member problems
- Ability to locate and correct cash and posting errors
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of members and employees in high-stress situations
- Communication skills necessary to effectively cross-sell Credit Union services
- High school education
