Job Summary
Full-time Telescope Mechanic I at NRAO (Green Bank, WV). Responsible for routine maintenance, installation, testing, calibration, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and limited electronic components on radio telescopes and related equipment; may assist in operation and testing of telescope equipment, and assist with receiver/equipment changes. Requires reading schematics/blueprints, using hand and power tools, maintaining inventory, and adhering to safety policies. Must hold a High School diploma or GED, have at least 2 years of relevant experience, have a valid West Virginia driver's license, and be authorized to work in the United States. This is a safety-sensitive role; post-offer drug screening is required. The position is based in Green Bank, WV, and sponsorship for H-1B visas is not available.
Required Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of mechanical work experience or relevant education/experience
- Valid West Virginia Driver's license
- Ability to read and interpret schematics/blueprints and operate hand and power tools
