Job Summary
Telemetry Technician monitors, records, interprets and documents ECG tracings for patients on telemetry monitors; recognizes and reports arrhythmias to medical staff; operates complex cardiac monitoring systems (ECG rhythm screens, dysrhythmia detection, rhythm printers) and sets up central station; documents rhythm interpretations and patient data; communicates changes to nurses, assists with emergency procedures, and supports unit management to promote quality, patient satisfaction, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in healthcare
- Passing telemetry course within six weeks of hire
- Excellent communication skills
