Job Summary
Monitor assigned patients continuously, verifying correct identification of basic, lethal, and artifact rhythms while maintaining EKG monitor alarms. Perform EKG interpretations including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, and wave form alterations, ensuring strip interpretations are validated by registered nurses. Respond promptly and appropriately to all alarms as needed. This per diem role offers 12-hour day or night shifts at $21 per hour in Canton, OH, with opportunities for advancement to full-time positions.
Required Qualifications
- Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date in position
- Must pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)*
- Preferred background as a Licensed Paramedic
- Preferred background as an RN nursing student with EKG training
- LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only
