Telemetry Technician, Per Diem

Job Summary

Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously during shifts, recognizing interference and correcting problems as observed by the nurse. Immediately report dysrhythmias to appropriate staff and record monitor strips on all patients every four hours, documenting PR interval, rate, and rhythm. Ensure all telemetry alarms remain active, retrieve stored rhythms upon request, and oversee supply inventory while reporting equipment malfunctions. Adhere to employee code of ethics, university policies, and unit procedures to safeguard assets. This role provides indirect patient care under physician orders within the University of Miami Health System, supporting a leading academic medical center serving South Florida and Latin America.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of EKG certification program
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
