Job Summary
Monitor assigned patients continuously, verifying correct identification of basic and lethal rhythms while responding promptly to all EKG monitor alarms. Perform EKG interpretations including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, and wave form alterations, ensuring strip interpretations are validated by registered nurses. Maintain monitor equipment and ensure timely responses to alerts. Complete required EKG class and competencies within 30 days of start date. This role supports Select Specialty Hospital Richmond's critical illness recovery services for chronic, critically ill patients in a per diem night shift setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date in position and pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts

Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)*, Licensed Paramedic or RN nursing student with EKG training (*LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only.)
