Job Summary
Monitor and document electrocardiographic patterns for patients, identifying and reporting heart rhythms and rates while notifying personnel of significant changes. Respond to emergency situations by documenting rhythms during code scenarios and alerting physicians and staff. Perform skilled clerical and receptionist duties while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Complete orientation and annual recertification courses in basic dysrhythmia, requiring at least six months of related work experience. Work a 12X3 night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, a Magnet-designated hospital serving Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations by documenting rhythms during a code situation and notifying physicians and staff
- Complete a basic dysrhythmia course with an acceptable score during orientation
- Complete an annual recertification course in basic dysrhythmia with an acceptable score
- At least 6 months related work experience
