Job Summary
Continuously monitor assigned EKG units, verifying correct identification of basic, lethal, and artifact rhythms while responding promptly to all alarms. Perform EKG interpretations including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, and wave form alterations, ensuring strip interpretations are validated by registered nurses. Maintain monitor alarms and complete required EKG class competencies within 30 days of start date. This role supports critical illness recovery services for chronically and critically ill patients at Select Specialty Hospital's Alle Kiski location.
Required Qualifications
- Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs
- Must pass required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date
- Must pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Background as a Licensed Paramedic
- Background as an RN nursing student with EKG training
