Job Summary
Conduct telemetry monitoring to provide data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions. Attach electrode lead lines to proper body areas, prepare skin for valid results, and obtain and document ECG readings as directed. Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors, identify significant arrhythmias or signs of patient distress, and intervene appropriately. Correct for artifacts, edit and forward results to attending physicians, and maintain ECG equipment and supplies. Work 24 hours per week in 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework and CPR certification required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework
- CPR – Basic Life Support
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday rotation
- Must be able to work 24 hours per week
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts
- Must be able to work from 7am to 730pm
- Must adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program
- Must comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards
- Must be able to attach electrode lead lines to proper body areas
- Must be able to prepare skin and surroundings
- Must be able to obtain and document ECG readings
- Must be able to perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors
- Must be able to identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress
- Must be able to intervene appropriately
- Must be able to identify and correct for artifacts
