Job Summary
Telemetry Tech Nights role in a hospital setting at AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel. Responsibilities include observing monitors, recognizing and documenting normal/abnormal EKG patterns, notifying nursing staff of abnormalities, maintaining alarm settings, participating in performance-improvement activities, ensuring accurate documentation and monitoring, maintaining telemetry printouts during cardiac arrest, communicating patient status to the healthcare team, and keeping the work area clean and properly sanitized. Skills/qualifications include Monitor Technician training or equivalent, English proficiency, basic computer literacy, strong communication and customer service abilities, familiarity with medical terminology and arrhythmia identification, and the ability to complete competency checks within 90 days. The role requires a flexible schedule including weekends and nights, with potential overtime. Education preferred: High School Grad or Equiv; 1+ monitor tech experience preferred; CPR/BLS certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Monitor technician training or equivalent
- English proficiency (read/write/speak)
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with or knowledge of ECG/EKG monitoring
- Ability to read and interpret basic medical terminology
- Completion of basic arrhythmias identification course or equivalent
- Ability to learn and complete competency check off within 90 days
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and overtime
