Job Summary
Monitor patient cardiac rhythms continuously, applying and removing electrodes as needed. Notify floor staff immediately of rhythm changes and life-threatening dysrhythmias. Complete 12 hours of department instruction and pass the first comprehensive exam on AV conduction and electrophysiology to maintain employment. After 90 days of preceptorship, pass the second exam covering accurate strip interpretation. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and involves PRN shift work with varying schedules.
Required Qualifications
- HS/GED
- Ability to pass the 1st part of a 2 part comprehensive exam on Telemetry AV Conduction and Electrophysiology of the Heart
- Ability to pass the 2nd part of the comprehensive exam on Accurate Strip Interpretation
