Job Summary
Provide continuous EKG monitoring and interpret rhythms, including lethal arrhythmias, while notifying appropriate staff. Oversee care, maintenance, and tracking of telemetry equipment, reporting problems to the Unit Manager. Deliver safe, efficient patient care under licensed nurse supervision, assist with unit staffing, and record information in medical records to ensure timely reporting and documentation. Requires one year of nursing/patient care and administrative experience, BLS certification, and Rhythm Recognition Course completion. Successful completion of the CMH Telemetry Technician competency is required within three months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- One (1) year experience performing Nursing/Patient Care Assistant duties in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility
- One (1) year experience performing Administrative/Unit Secretarial duties in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Rhythm Recognition Course Certificate
- Successful completion of the CMH Telemetry Technician competency within three (3) months of hire
- Knowledge of medical terminology
