Job Summary
Documents and interprets patient cardiac rhythms at regular intervals to identify dysrhythmias by obtaining and interpreting baseline rhythm strips. Measures and documents PR and QRS intervals electronically for new and existing patients. Communicates all arrhythmias with registered nurses and activates emergency notification systems for life-threatening rhythms. Reports equipment malfunctions to clinical engineering, nurse managers, or designees. Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment to support efficient departmental operations. Requires high school diploma, strong communication skills, and basic reading, writing, and math abilities. Previous experience as a nursing assistant, monitor technician, EMT, or patient care technician is preferred.
