Telemetry Monitor Technician

Job Summary

Continually observe and analyze telemetry monitors to immediately report significant changes in rhythms to appropriate personnel. Complete required clerical tasks, perform equipment checks, and maintain updated in-services and tools. Collaborate with co-workers and healthcare professionals while promoting organizational values and protecting patient dignity. Participate in facility meetings, safety drills, and relevant in-service training sessions. Maintain excellent working relationships with staff, administration, patients, and vendors. Adhere to regulatory standards, infection control protocols, and emergency procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Telemetry Monitoring experience
  • equivalent education in telemetry monitoring and reading
  • Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and customers
  • Ability to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form
  • Ability to define and solve problems and collect data
  • Ability to identify and implement components of the Telemetry Monitor Tech process
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals
  • Ability to carry out essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to identify and handle infectious waste
  • Complies with OSHA standards in the work place
  • Complies with applicable health screenings
  • Attends in-service and education programs
  • Attends and completes continuing education required for maintenance of applicable license and/or certification

Desired Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in healthcare
  • previous telemetry monitoring experience
  • equivalent education in telemetry monitoring and reading
  • Completion of Medical Terminology course
  • Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
  • Attends in-service and education programs
  • Attends and completes continuing education required for maintenance of applicable license and/or certification
