Telematics Data Scientist - Business Data & Analytics

Job Summary
Build foundational analytics that connect claims and telematics data; develop reusable analytical components for fleet behavior monitoring and pricing enablement; design and optimize Snowflake data structures for scalable modeling and automation; document analytical logic and data structures; identify opportunities to embed telematics analytics into AI/workflows; support onboarding of telematics/IoT data sources; contribute to end-to-end data pipelines and cross-functional analytics products; collaborate with data engineering, data science, and business teams to enable data-driven decision making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Neuroscience, or related fields
- Master’s degree in these fields would be highly preferred
- 3 or more years of related experience
- Strong SQL proficiency
- Hands-on experience with Python for data transformation, feature engineering, and building data pipelines
- Experience with unsupervised machine learning techniques
- Experience with hypothesis-driven modeling with domain-informed features and constraints
- Strong documentation habits
- Preferred: Snowflake data modeling experience
- Geospatial or grid-based analytics experience (e.g., H3)
- Background in insurance, fleet, risk, or pricing analytics involving telematics or sensor data
