Job Summary
As a Telecommunicator in aviation, you’ll be the unseen essential link coordinating emergency and non-emergency calls to dispatch appropriate personnel for EMS, FAA flight information, airport operations, and security. You will operate an 800 MHz radio system to contact Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Fire, Airport Operations, Traffic Control, Information Services, Maintenance, FAA, Parking, and other units; use a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system to prioritize requests from airport employees, tenants, passengers, and government agencies; and report to the Telecommunications Supervisor. The role is on-site at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport Campus and requires a high school diploma or equivalency, at least 6 months of dispatch or related experience (or educational equivalent), a NC driver’s license, and the ability to obtain DCI Operator Certification within 6 months. The compensation begins at a minimum of $19.76 per hour, with the maximum based on experience, and the benefits package includes day-one medical, dental, vision, tuition assistance, and on-site amenities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 6 months of experience in dispatching, call center, or other related experience, or educational equivalent
- NC Driver’s License
- DCI Operator Certification (able to obtain within 6 months)
