Job Summary
Operate emergency communication systems to receive, classify, and dispatch service calls while monitoring radio frequencies for public and private alarms. Maintain computerized logs, update the 911 index database, and assist with staff scheduling and address verification. Provide logistical support to the Emergency Management Team during disasters and mobilize mobile command resources. Respond to after-hours emergency calls across days, nights, and holidays, ensuring data security and system maintenance. Requires North Carolina DCI certification, multiple telecommunicator credentials, and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent

- North Carolina DCI Certification
- TDD Certification
- Power Phone Basic
- Fire Telecommunicator Certification
- Medical Telecommunicator Certification
- Law Telecommunicator Certification
- NC EMD Certification
- NIMS 100
- NIMS 200

- NIMS 800
- appropriate Driver's License, valid in the State of North Carolina
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Successful completion of SBI background check with required fingerprinting by Sheriff Office
