Job Summary

Pull, route, dress, and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling in accordance with DOE standards across enterprise infrastructure facilities. Terminate and test Cat5e through Cat6A and fiber cables, perform splicing and end-face inspection, and conduct certification using Fluke DSX or similar analyzers to document and resolve failures. Install cable management infrastructure including trays, conduit, and J-hooks while coordinating with facilities and government stakeholders to execute projects with minimal operational disruption. Maintain accurate as-built documentation and adhere to all site safety requirements for raised floor and above-ceiling environments. Requires a DOE security clearance and US citizenship; typical salary range is $66,000 - $106,000.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years with BS/BA
  • Minimum of 6 years with High School Diploma
  • Hands-on experience in structured cabling installation and termination in an enterprise or federal environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with copper and fiber optic cabling, including termination, splicing, and testing
  • Experience reading and interpreting floor plans, network diagrams, and cabling schematics
  • Ability to operate cable testing and certification equipment
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to clean, organized, and properly documented installations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and operate in confined or above-ceiling spaces
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency with fiber cable is preferred, not required
  • BICSI Installer 1 or Installer 2 certification (copper and/or fiber)
  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking certification
  • Experience supporting federal government or DOE facilities
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools
  • Experience with outside plant (OSP) fiber installation
  • Knowledge of basic network switching, patching, and troubleshooting
