Job Summary
Process calls through IWK Health’s voice communications systems promptly, efficiently, and courteously in accordance with policy. Must be available for varied shifts and holidays; High School Diploma or GED required; prior customer service/call center experience preferred; strong keyboarding (40 wpm minimum, 60 wpm preferred); excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask and work collaboratively within an inter-professional team; commitment to Family Centred Care; willingness to engage in ongoing learning and support co-workers. This is a permanent, part-time (60% FTE) admin-professionals bargaining unit position located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with 24-hour department coverage and a range of shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Previous experience in a customer service or call centre role required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology
- Demonstrated customer service and communication skills required
- Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required
- 60 wpm preferred
- Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills required
- Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required
- High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus
- Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers
- Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills required
- Competency in other languages considered an asset
- Background checks and credential confirmation required
