Job Summary
Operate the switchboard console to route internal and external calls, answer code telephones within two rings, and initiate emergency codes in accordance with policy. Monitor mechanical, gas, and fire alarms, segregate requests for technicians versus physicians, and notify on-call personnel using established communication modes. Manage overhead paging systems for emergency announcements and interpreter services, ensuring accurate information exchange and timely page handling. Set up daily schedules and complete required forms and signatures. Work every other weekend from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a shift differential, earning between $16.00 and $19.63 per hour for part-time status.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Six months previous customer service experience utilizing voice communication over the telephone
- Clear communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
- Excellent customer service skills
- Formal customer service training preferred
