Job Summary
Monitor contractor work for quality control and contract compliance on roadway and utility projects, focusing on traffic control, sensitive political or environmental concerns, and coordination with property owners, utility companies, and local agencies. Process attachment permits for Joint Use partners including cable television, telephone, and local governments; act as a liaison regarding permits, inspections, rebuilds, NESC, and RUS interpretation. Prepare joint use pole construction/design projects, cost estimates, and notifications while assuring proper payment transactions. Maintain files of agreements, permits, surveys, and inspections. Work in both office and field environments, prioritizing multiple projects from numerous departments. Requires high school diploma, working knowledge of distribution design, estimating, and NESC/RUS codes, plus familiarity with Joint Use software such as ArcFM and PoleForeman.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of distribution design and construction, estimating and NESC and/or RUS codes
- Working knowledge of cable television, telephone and telecommunication companies' operations and interaction with electric utilities
- Knowledge of Joint Use design software and assembly codes
- Working knowledge of how to use computers including the use of software such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel, and Outlook Email software
- Working knowledge and experience with data conversion using ArcGIS, AutoCAD or Microstation
- Ability to communicate technical information, ability to research, interpret and summarize data
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects from numerous departments
- Must be highly motivated, a self-starter; flexible, detail-oriented, enjoy interacting with employees and clients; willing to work at a dynamic pace to complete tasks and meet deadlines; and share a commitment to our firm's vision, mission, and shared values
- Must be able to work both in an office environment and in the field

Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of distribution design and construction, estimating and NESC and/or RUS codes preferred
- Working knowledge of cable television, telephone and telecommunication companies' operations and interaction with electric utilities preferred
- Knowledge of Joint Use design software and assembly codes preferred – ArcFM, Partner, Mapwise, PoleForeman, Ike Office, etc.
- Working knowledge and experience with data conversion using ArcGIS, AutoCAD or Microstation is preferred
