Telecommunications BIM Engineer II

Job Summary
Design, implement, and support telecommunications systems across large, multidisciplinary projects. Develop detailed designs and drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools; design telecommunications systems including structured cabling, fiber optics, telephony, radio, and public address/access control. Prepare cost estimates and technical studies; evaluate contractor bids. Review shop drawings, update drawings based on change requests, and provide technical support during RFIs, submittals, and site instructions. Conduct inspections, field surveys, and commissioning; assist in testing and performance validation. Prepare technical reports and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams through project meetings, ensuring compliance with standards (TIA, BICSI) and project requirements. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience; certifications (e.g., BICSI, PMP) are advantageous. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications systems design and engineering
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications standards such as TIA and BICSI
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit and BIM tools is an advantage
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, and communication systems design
- Understanding of construction practices and commissioning processes
- Field experience in inspections, testing, or commissioning is a plus
- Professional certifications (e.g., BICSI, PMP, or equivalent) are an advantage
