Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair fiber and copper cabling while administering Avaya Aura voice systems across multiple remote sites in the DC Metro Area. Manage comprehensive inventory and documentation of voice/data/fiber layouts per TIA/EIA, TIA 1179, and BICSI standards, ensuring strict adherence to JCAHO fire-stop and cable management protocols. Provide technical assistance for telecommunications equipment and address cabling issues through collaboration with clients, vendors, and facility personnel. Requires Secret clearance, 3+ years of data networking experience, and industry certifications in Data and Voice Cable. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience in data networking and cable installation
- Possession of industry certification in Data and Voice Cable (both copper and fiber optic)
- Required Secret clearance
- Proficient in Structured Cabling with an in-depth understanding of TIA/EIA 568 standards, particularly TIA 1179 specifications
- Aptitude for seamless interaction with customers and colleagues to effectively execute necessary job tasks
- Ability to thrive under pressure, manage diverse work assignments concurrently, prioritize tasks, and assume complete accountability for decisions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working as a DHA contractor or employee
- BICSI certification (TECHTM, Installer 1 or 2, Technician, or Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD))
- Experience installing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining structured cabling systems in accordance with BICSI standards
- Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure, copper and fiber optic cabling, and network infrastructure best practices
