Job Summary
The role of a Telecommunications Technician at ACOM involves independent and team work in Network and Cable Installation, particularly with copper and fiber optics, security systems, and access control. The position requires troubleshooting network issues and managing projects with a strong emphasis on customer service. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in Network and Cable Installation to include copper and fiber optics
- Knowledgeable in fiber optics installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting
- Minimum 2 years experience in access control
- Minimum 2 years experience in security systems
- Minimum 2 Years of experience with cameras and network video recorders
- Ability to troubleshoot Network issues in real time
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance
- Ability to manage projects
- Customer service oriented and excellent communications skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work at heights on both ladders and mobile elevated work platform (MEWP)
- Able to use Microsoft Operating systems and applications (Word, Power Point, Vizio)
- Valid Driver's License
- Virginia DCJS Electronic Security Technician license or the ability to become licensed
- Virginia DCJS Locksmith or the ability to become licensed
