Job Summary
Telecom Apprentice Lineman position based in Kapolei, Hawaii. Responsibilities include overhead and underground low-voltage line construction and maintenance for fiber optic and copper cabling, operating and maintaining equipment under a Lineman/Line Foreman, driving trucks, loading/unloading materials, climbing poles, and working from aerial lifts. Requires interpreting cables, performing vehicle inspections, maintaining tools and trucks, and a strong commitment to safety. Travel across Hawaii, the Pacific Basin, Alaska, and other U.S. locations may be required; overtime may be necessary. Must have a high school diploma or GED and pass required background checks, DOT physical, and related screenings. Preferred CDL (Class A/B), lineman school certification, and 1–3 years of telecom construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass background check, drug and alcohol screening, motor vehicle record review, and DOT physical examination
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to distinguish colors for cable identification and termination
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight, weekend, and extended assignments throughout Hawaii, the Pacific Basin, Alaska, and other U.S. locations as required
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Preferred: Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Lineman school certification
- 1–3 years of structured cabling or telecom construction experience
- Industry certifications (as applicable)
