Job Summary
Read blueprints to plan repairs or pole transfers, then cut, assemble, and install cables, lashing, mounts, arms, bonds, and guy wires. Install and maintain fiber, cable, and phone equipment while locating and repairing issues quickly. Place, transfer, and remove poles as needed. Perform pre-trip vehicle checks and complete condition reports, maintaining assigned vehicles to cleaning standards. Utilize tablets to complete ticket paperwork for billing and invoice purposes, and load materials in the truck. This full-time hourly position requires a valid CDL and at least two years of aerial construction or telecom trade experience. Candidates may work long or alternate hours, including outdoor conditions with extreme weather.
Required Qualifications
- knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques, including the placement of poles and anchors
- familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment
- ability to read and understand prints/maps
- safety rules
- operating instructions
- valid CDL driver's license with a good driving record
- High School Diploma from accredited school or its equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in aerial construction or telecom trade
- ability to apply preventative maintenance and service to motor vehicles and motorized equipment
- ability to make minor adjustments to correct performance malfunctions in the field
- ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public
- ability to travel
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time)

- ability to speak and hear worksite safety instructions
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications
- Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry
- Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)
