Job Summary
Read blueprints and drawings to plan repairs, pole transfers, and cable installations. Cut, assemble, and install cables, lashing, mounts, arms, bonds, and guy wires while locating and repairing issues quickly. Place, transfer, and remove poles, then perform all City and D.O.T. requirements including pre-trip checks, vehicle condition reports, and maintaining assigned vehicles to appropriate cleanliness standards. Utilize tablets to complete ticket paperwork for billing and invoice purposes, and load materials in the truck as required. This full-time hourly position operates outdoors in varying weather conditions and involves intermittent physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 100+ pounds.
Required Qualifications
- knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques, including the placement of poles and anchors
- familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment
- ability to read and understand prints/maps
- safety rules
- operating instructions
- valid CDL driver's license with a good driving record
- High School Diploma from accredited school or its equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in aerial construction or telecom trade
- Ability to apply preventative maintenance and service to motor vehicles and motorized equipment and to make minor adjustments to correct performance malfunctions in the field
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time)

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds)
- Intermittent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavier objects (100+ pounds)
- getting in and out of a truck several times a day
- speak and hear worksite safety instructions
- pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by the company
Desired Qualifications
- Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry
- Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)
- Ability to travel
