Job Summary
Provide individual in-home therapy, group therapy, telehealth therapy, and outpatient center sessions for youth with mental health disorders, with a mix of in-home, center-based and telehealth modalities in New Jersey. Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments when applicable, support coping and social skills, anger management, and reduction of risk behaviors (e.g., SIB or aggression). Enhance decision-making for youth and caretakers, collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, and complete required intake, treatment plans, DAP notes, and other clinical documentation. Training for bio-psycho-social assessments available or required. Must hold a master’s degree and applicable licensure (LSW/LAC/LFT), have trauma counseling training, and be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. Availability 6-10 hours per week after school (12pm–8pm) with weekend flexibility; maintain a 2–3 client caseload for part-time staff. Full background checks and a NJ driver’s license are required.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields such as LSW, LAC, LFT
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Training or willingness to complete Crisis Intervention Training
- Post-internship field experience with youth with mental health disorders and clinical experience
- Experience with creating treatment planning, treatment goals setting, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Experience with counseling approaches: CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma Response
- Knowledge of DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship
- Willingness to travel within service areas
- Experience providing in-home, center-based, and telehealth therapy
- Ability to maintain minimum caseload 2-3 clients for part-time role
