Teen Outreach Coordinator

Job Summary

Ensure appropriate staffing, respond to student and parent inquiries, and cultivate partnerships with local social service organizations and schools. Plan and teach life skills curriculum while providing tutoring, homework help, and organizing the classroom environment. Track student attendance and progress, manage administrative data entry, and create innovative teen programs aligned with strategic objectives. Build relationships with families, teachers, and administrators to promote character development and asset building.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience with youth development
  • Commitment to working with the middle school age group and at-risk youth
  • Capacity to function independently in a classroom setting
  • Build strong relationships with the various school personnel
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Equivalent experience to Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to tutor at an 8th grade level in math, science, social studies and language arts
  • Capacity to implement values education and asset building activities
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Youth and Teens or customer service
  • Competency with computer programs and internet research used in schools
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Writing and reporting skills necessary to complete grant required documentation
  • Patience, persistence and understanding in dealing with family issues related to students
  • First aid & adult CPR certification
  • Maintain first aid and CPR certification
