Job Summary
Teen Intern supporting Youth Services under the Teen Lead Librarian. Responsibilities include performing public service desk duties, assisting with teen programming, participating in community outreach programs, providing reference and reader’s advisory services, and helping develop and maintain teen collections. Duties also cover planning, creation, facilitation, and evaluation of innovative teen programming, representation at community events, contributing to KPL’s online presence, and participation in department meetings and library-related events. Schedule 20-25 hours weekly, including evenings and weekends. Salary is $18.20/hour. The role requires enrollment in a Master’s degree program from an ALA-accredited library school and basic knowledge of library operations. Work location is Kalamazoo, Michigan, US, with on-site library environment and local community involvement.
