Job Summary

Develop and implement quality programs for middle and high school students, ensuring YMCA policies and safety standards are enforced. Coordinate service delivery with the management team to maintain a youth-friendly environment while monitoring enrollment and participation. Support recruitment efforts and ensure teens complete all required training, special events, and community collaborations. Increase community visibility through weekly social media contacts and maintain program areas and supplies. Communicate program concerns immediately and adhere to all established guidelines. Work weekends and evenings between noon and midnight, five out of seven days, with flexible shifts assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in program planning and development with youth in an urban environment
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Some college courses dealing with youth education and human services
  • Experience in working with youth in education, job readiness and employment skills
  • At least one year direct experience working with middle and high school students
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old
  • Human relations skills necessary to facilitate positive and effective relationships with youth and teen program participants, community agencies, parents, staff and volunteers
  • Good organizational and leadership skills, and the ability and willingness to work with others
  • Willingness to work as part of a team to offer developmentally progressive youth and teen programs
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Child Abuse Prevention training
  • Respect in the Workplace training
  • CPR, First Aid certification
  • Food Safety Training
  • Weekend and evening work
  • Flexible shifts between noon – midnight
  • Work 5 out of 7 days per week
  • Schedule may require you to work one or both weekend days
  • Travel for youth outings, trainings, etc.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust

Desired Qualifications

  • Driver's License preferred
