Assist investigation of component, manufacturing, and field return issues through prompt root cause analysis and effective corrective actions. Operate specialized Failure Analysis equipment and perform a variety of Failure Analysis techniques. Ability to perform SMT and Thru-hole rework and master solder processes like BGA reballing. Continually develop/grind and polish skills. Contribute to flow, management, and disposition of MRB material. Diagnose and repair at the component level on electronic circuit board assemblies while maintaining minimal quantities of Engineering and Component hold assemblies. Monitor reject levels and report technical information concerning failures to the Failure Analysis Engineer. Assist in implementing proactive measures to improve productivity and higher product yields while reducing economic loss. Assist engineers in responding to production line problems and addressing boards on component hold. Monitor storage/handling of moisture sensitive components, shock sensitive devices, and fiber optic components. Understand and utilize assembly documentation (schematics, BOMs, EC documents, visuals, testing tools, procedures). Support Test Engineering in data evaluation to improve diagnostic efficiency. Adhere to safety and health rules and the company security policy.
