Job Summary
Manage and maintain the school's technology infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, internet connectivity, and related systems. Oversee cybersecurity practices, administer Google Workspace for Education, and manage the Chromebook environment. Provide professional technology support for faculty, staff, administrators, and students regarding computers, classroom technology, and audiovisual equipment. Coordinate technology vendors for security cameras, electronic door access, and other campus systems. Develop technology training, documentation, and onboarding support while maintaining technology inventories and assisting with purchasing and budgeting. Work in a fast-paced environment with potential weekend, evening, and holiday coverage, adhering to Catholic schools standards of conduct and ministry requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Educational Technology, or a related field
- Experience supporting computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, or information technology operations
- Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCB ED
- Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) application within the first week of employment
- Must participate in an EIM workshop within 60 days
- Must maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment
- Must complete Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of the date of hire
- Must complete a minimum of 25 hours each year of Religion Certification Part 1
- Must adhere to the Catholic Schools Standards of Conduct
- Must adhere to the Diocese of Austin EIM policies
- Must adhere to the social, ethical, and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as interpreted by the Bishop of Austin
- Must maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, colleagues, and administration
- Must be available for weekends, evenings, and some holidays
- Must be willing to work in multiple educational settings
- Must be willing to travel within and outside the school to meetings and other events
- Must be willing to travel that may include overnight lodging
- Must be willing to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards
- Must be willing to be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech including Christian prayer and Catholic liturgical celebrations
- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly
- Must be willing to work in an at-will employment state
- Must be willing to use personal or school vehicles to drive to off-site locations
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Educational Technology, or a related field preferred
- Experience with Google Workspace for Education, Chromebook management, or educational technology preferred
- Experience working with technology vendors, networking equipment, security systems, printers/copiers, or campus technology infrastructure is desirable
- Knowledge of networking, wireless infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and modern information systems
- Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education and Chromebook administration
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to individuals with varying levels of technology experience
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, administrators, vendors, and contractors
- Demonstrated initiative, dependability, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning
- Commitment to supporting the mission, philosophy, and Catholic identity of St. Joseph Catholic School
