Job Summary
Senior Technology Specialist provides technical support for academic and administrative computing throughout East Haven Public Schools. Responsible for maintaining district hardware, supporting end users, and assisting with network and infrastructure operations. Responsibilities include hardware support (maintain, troubleshoot, and repair workstations; set up and inventory equipment; support classroom technology), end-user support (in-person, remote, phone, email; helpdesk ticketing; staff training; Google Workspace and PowerSchool support), network and infrastructure tasks (install/maintain network cabling; wireless access points, switches, printers; IP phone systems; security cameras), and device management (Chromebook fleet management, imaging, enrollment, and inventory tracking). Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant technology experience; preferred certifications and K-12 experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in technology support or graduation from a technical school program for hardware/software support
- Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS operating systems
- Working knowledge of wired and wireless networking hardware and peripherals
- Experience with Google Workspace applications
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in a K-12 educational environment preferred
- Experience with student information systems (e.g. PowerSchool) preferred
- Experience with helpdesk ticketing and asset management systems preferred
- Experience with VoIP phone systems preferred
- CompTIA A+ Certification or Google Certified credentials preferred
- Valid motor vehicle driver's license for travel between district buildings
