Job Summary
Technology Product Owner for Humana's claim-as-a-service platform responsible for defining and prioritizing technical capabilities, enablers, and system health within the product backlog. Partners with Business Product Owners, operations, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, secure technical solutions; ensures modernization, refactoring, resiliency, performance, security, data quality, and architectural runway are reflected in backlog prioritization and delivery planning. Leads technical user story refinement, acceptance criteria, and coordination with engineering; participates in sprint and PI planning; monitors technical metrics (debt, performance, version compliance, platform stability) and collaborates with engineering, architecture, data analytics, and vendors. Maintains compliance with technology lifecycle policies, supports risk management for obsolescence and security vulnerabilities, and drives continuous improvement through retrospectives and best practices in claims platform architecture and technical operations. Travel to Humana offices may be required; remote work is offered with a commutable distance to designated IT locations (Louisville, KY; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Frisco, TX; Nashville, TN; Tampa, FL). This role emphasizes delivering technically robust solutions aligned with business objectives while maintaining regulatory and security standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in technology, technical product ownership, or engineering leadership roles
- 1+ years' experience leading technology modernization, system upgrades, or platform lifecycle initiatives in a complex enterprise environment
- 1+ years' experience with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) and technical backlog management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira)
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- 1+ years' experience managing technical debt, system integrations, and compliance with technology lifecycle or currency standards
