Job Summary
Technology-focused senior legal leadership role in JPMorganChase's Legal Department, responsible for drafting and negotiating cybersecurity, information security, and global security terms; advising on regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions; shaping policy and advocacy efforts; managing incident response and crisis management; and providing strategic, practical legal advice to cybersecurity, technology controls, and global security teams. The role requires JD and licensing, at least five years post-admission experience, strong contract, regulatory, and cross-functional collaboration skills, and the ability to advise senior management and outside counsel on complex financial services matters. Located in New York, NY, with in-person duties.
Required Qualifications
- JD degree and compliance with all relevant licensing requirements for the jurisdiction of employment
- Minimum of five years post-admission legal practicing experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, complex financial products and services
- Ability to assume significant independent responsibility immediately
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding organizational and project management abilities
- Strategic thinker with the ability to provide actionable legal advice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with senior executives
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and colleague relationships
- Successful completion of a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to employment
- Experience advising on cybersecurity, information security, and global security matters
- Experience working in a large financial institution or similar regulated environment
- Prior involvement in advocacy or policy development related to cybersecurity or physical security
- Familiarity with global intelligence, insider risk, and strategic threat management
- Experience managing crisis response and regulatory engagement
- Advanced negotiation skills in complex contract environments
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience supporting senior management and cross-functional teams on legal and security issues
