Job Summary
Lead the architecture, design, development, and testing of high-performance AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC power converters ranging from 1 kW to 150+ kW. Drive advanced motor drive systems operating from 10,000 RPM to over 150,000 RPM and develop sophisticated digital control algorithms using DSPs, microcontrollers, and FPGA-based architectures. Oversee power stage design utilizing Silicon Carbide and Gallium Nitride semiconductors, manage PCB fabrication, and guide projects through the complete product lifecycle from concept to production. Provide technical mentorship to multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineers to solve complex challenges. Support business development by contributing technical expertise to proposal efforts and customer engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.3
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience designing and developing power electronic systems
- Demonstrated experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting power conversion equipment at or above 100 kW
- Strong background in variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control systems
- Experience with power electronics design, simulation, laboratory testing, and system integration
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience working with wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies including SiC and GaN devices
- Experience programming microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGA-based control systems
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice, or similar modeling and simulation tools
- Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, or serving as a subject matter expert
- Experience developing products for aerospace, defense, energy, or advanced industrial applications
