Job Summary
Technology Intern at the high school reports to the Technology Director and High School Principal. Responsible for providing technical services and direction to maintain the district’s systems in optimal condition to support educational processes and district objectives. Key duties include completing ongoing technology projects, managing all helpdesk requests promptly, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software, experience with Windows and Microsoft products, strong independent work, effective written and oral communication with staff and students, attention to detail, ability to run and test Ethernet cables, and capacity to lift and transport heavy equipment up to 50 pounds. The role may involve flexible hours in emergency crisis situations and is based in Pataskala, Ohio, during a defined internship period (May 26–September 30, 2026).
Required Qualifications
- Interest/experience in implementing and maintaining hardware, software, etc.
- Interest/experience in troubleshooting & maintenance of computer hardware & software
- Interest/experience with Windows platforms & other Microsoft products
- Must be self-motivated & able to work alone to complete projects as needed
- Ability to communicate clearly & assist staff and students on technology related issues
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
- Ability to investigate and solve technical problems independently
- Possess high attention to detail
- Ability to run, terminate and test Ethernet cable
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to interact with colleagues, faculty, staff and students without conflict
- Ability to make timely, sound and independent decisions concerning the technology
- Ability to take direction and/or constructive criticism in a positive manner
- Thorough knowledge of native Microsoft software loaded district systems
- Physical capacity to carry and transport heavy equipment (80 pounds)
- Ability to work flexible hours in emergency crisis mode
