Job Summary
Two-year Technology Fellow for AI and Philanthropy to design and deliver hands-on AI trainings for Ford Foundation staff, curate sociotechnical conversations on AI in philanthropy, conduct landscape research, build networks with AI researchers and practitioners, identify and connect grantees exploring mission-aligned AI, and provide strategic advisory to develop technology strategies. The role emphasizes evaluating AI tools for mission impact, creating accessible documentation and guides, and collaborating with the Technology and Society program. Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 7+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and willingness to work in New York City in a hybrid model.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years in public interest, government, civil society, or tech sectors
- Baccalaureate degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated sociotechnical expertise in AI and related technologies
- Ability to evaluate practical applications of AI in social change organizations
- Experience designing and implementing AI applications/tools in a complex, global setting
- Strong strategic communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders across civil society, government, and private sector
- Familiarity with information and communication technologies for public interest
