Job Summary
Oversee and maintain campus technology operations at Plano West Senior High School, including troubleshooting and maintaining computers, printers, projectors, AV equipment, and Chromebooks; imaging and reimaging workstations and laptops; managing network security by enforcing district-approved software; providing Windows and office-suite support; coordinating equipment delivery/setup and training; maintaining inventory and printers, and serving as the primary technology liaison for campus staff and district vendors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- General knowledge of campus technology equipment and its assembly/operation
- General knowledge of Windows 10
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use Command Prompt to verify IP addresses
- Ability to change BIOS boot order when required
- Troubleshooting computers, printers, AV equipment, and scanners (preferred)
- Maintain campus computers, printers, projectors and other technology for teachers and students
- Reimage workstations and laptops
- Powerwash and enroll district Chromebooks
- Troubleshoot campus-based technology hardware and software including CPUs, monitors, cables, printers, CD-ROMs, keyboards, mice, headphones, speakers, projectors and other AV parts
- Protect network integrity by loading only district approved software
- Troubleshoot instructional software
- Submit repair tickets to diagnose issues efficiently
- Maintain printers and print queues
- Maintain district AV equipment
- Update files on workstations
- Support Windows platform and network software
- Serve as building contact for district technology staff, vendor support, and campus staff
- Coordinate and participate in delivery and setup of equipment
- Serve as building coordinator during network maintenance
- Maintain technology inventory database
- Record and report equipment theft with police
- Maintain printer toner inventory
- Communicate acceptable use guidelines with staff
- Operate the Mobile Broadcast Cart and assist with campus announcements
- Serve as site trainer for district technology implementations and network training
- Follow Plano ISD rules, regulations, policies, and attendance policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administration/supervisor
- Equipment used includes computer, printer, AV equipment, peripherals, copier, scanner
- Demonstrate the ability to work under physical demands and interruptions
- Maintain and keep adequate supplies of printer toner
- Navigate and maintain network and IT equipment within an educational setting
- Possess ability to work with teachers and students to support daily instructional technology
