Job Summary
Conduct patient ultrasound imaging using appropriate equipment and accessories while adhering to federal, state, and local laws and institutional policies. Assess clinical situations with discretion to obtain pertinent information for physician diagnosis and treatment, maintaining accountability for quality care and continued competence through self-analysis and lifelong learning. Obtain ARDMS registry within one year of employment and maintain required licenses per TDH or ARRT standards. Perform duties requiring standing, walking, and lifting up to 35 lbs, utilizing assisted-lift devices for heavier loads.
Required Qualifications
- Must be within the last semester of graduating or a graduate of an accredited ultrasound program and/or cross-trained from another allied health discipline
- ARDMS registered or eligible
- First registry must be obtained within 1 year of employment
- Second registry must be obtained within the second year of employment
- ARRT (R) (S) recognized, if above is not applicable
- Ultrasound Technologists who obtained credentials on the basis of another license in the medical field must maintain both licenses
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear
- Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff
