Job Summary
Technologist, Surgical Services (Certified) operates as a scrub tech under RN supervision within Denver Health's Labor and Delivery perioperative team. The role includes performing scrub duties for minor to complex surgical procedures, pulling instruments and supplies, maintaining sterile fields, facilitating room turnover, performing instrument counts, assisting with sterile processing tasks, transporting patients and specimens, and precepting students/RNs in scrub roles. Requires knowledge of medical equipment, safety practices, and the ability to collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to support obstetric and general surgical procedures; shifts are nights, 0.9 FTE, with focus on pediatric, adult, and geriatric cases and adherence to AORN, Joint Commission, and NBSTSA standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- CST-Certified Surgical Technologist - NBSTSA - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Required
- Surgical Technologist - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
- Shift Nights (United States of America)
