Job Summary
Operate radiology equipment and perform routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Select and compute settings for each patient, develop appropriate procedure plans, and implement them using established hospital protocols. Complete required documentation to comply with policies, maintain equipment and work areas for patient and staff safety, and participate in performance improvement activities by collecting quality data. Maintain current ARRT registration and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program
- Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT
- Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry
- Associates degree in related field
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory
- Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results
- Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to plan and organize work
- ARRT(R)
- BLS Certification within 14 days of hire
- New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire
- State license as required
