Job Summary
Repair and maintain laboratory equipment by diagnosing malfunctions, performing troubleshooting, and correcting faults with minimal supervision. Design, construct, and modify test equipment and data acquisition systems while updating drawings and generating documentation. Monitor performance of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic testing systems, executing preventive maintenance schedules and preparing requisitions for parts and services. Provide technical guidance to staff and operate a wide variety of measuring instruments and tools to perform duties.
Required Qualifications
- 3-year Technical Diploma (OACETT) or equivalent
- 2-4 years of experience
- Working knowledge of physics, mathematics and the desire to apply it required
- Creative, design and problem-solving talent is required
- Electrical and industrial safety training
Desired Qualifications
- CSA experience in laboratory, Metrology, an asset
- Experience with programmable controllers an asset
- Experience with Automation Languages (LabView, Python, C) an asset
