Job Summary
Technologist II (Molecular) with expertise in molecular biology techniques and assay development/validation. Collaborates with scientists to perform RNA/DNA extractions, qPCR, and NGS workflows (Illumina/Ion Torrent); runs QC on clinical samples and maintains reagents; conducts instrument maintenance; supports CLIA/GLP/GCP compliance; trains staff; engages in cross-functional process improvements; and contributes to SOP development and QA documentation. Strong communication, data scrutiny, and computational skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) required; able to work long hours, weekends, and holidays; physically capable of handling lab PPE and freezer environments. Preferred: 4+ years in an NGS core facility, MB (ASCP) certification, wet lab experience across the NGS workflow, and regulatory documentation familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Life Sciences, Biology or other related discipline)
- More than 2 years of prior related laboratory experience
- Must possess strong computational skills
- Excellent use of judgment and discretion
- Ability to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs.; 50 lbs. overhead with assistance; etc.
