Job Summary
As an IRL Technologist II at the American Red Cross, you will perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests to determine donor-recipient compatibility, resolve compatibility problems, provide consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services, and perform automated and manual test procedures on blood samples. Responsibilities include managing blood sample logistics, reagent inventory, and consulting with medical staff to resolve complex issues. You need MT(ASCP) certification, a Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry, and a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.
Required Qualifications
- MT(ASCP) certification
- Bachelor’s degree in biological science or chemistry
- Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- MLT (ASCP) certification with 5 years of blood banking experience can be substituted
- State license may be required where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- BB(ASCP) or SBB certification
- Experience in a Reference Laboratory
