Job Summary
Lead hardware architecture decisions and executive design reviews for next-generation high-performance test and validation platforms. Define system-level hardware architectures and technical requirements, driving key technical decisions that balance performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability, and schedule objectives. Review and approve schematics, PCB layouts, simulation results, and qualification strategies while leading root-cause investigations for critical design and manufacturing issues. Partner with Firmware, FPGA, Mechanical, and Validation teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective hardware solutions from concept through production release. Establish design standards and mentor engineers to promote continuous improvement in simulation-driven design and product reliability.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of hardware design and development experience
- 5+ years leading hardware architecture and technical development of complex electronic systems
- Proven experience leading cross-functional technical teams and driving architecture decisions
- Expertise in high-speed digital design and architecture
- Experience with PCIe Gen4/Gen5/Gen6
- Experience with USB, I2C, SMBus, UART
- Experience with DDR memory systems
- Experience with high-speed serial interfaces
- Strong knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI)
- Strong knowledge of Power Integrity (PI)
- Strong knowledge of Power distribution network design
- Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations
- Strong knowledge of Thermal management techniques
- Expertise in PCB design and review using Cadence Allegro or equivalent design tools
- Experience with FPGA, CPLD, and embedded system integration
- Strong knowledge of control interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, JTAG, and related protocols
- Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and manufacturing support
