Job Summary
Develop and fabricate novel Wide-Bandgap power semiconductors for next-generation electric mobility applications. Drive the development of new chip processes and full process flows by processing components in our research cleanroom. Conduct electrical and physical characterization of fabricated devices to build deep understanding of interactions between processes and electrical properties. Evaluate new component concepts for potential and feasibility, coordinating with internal and external partners to manage process workflows and mask layouts. Identify potential in new concepts and ideas, then secure their patent rights.
Required Qualifications
- Master/Diplom degree in Physics, Microsystems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or comparable field
- Promotion (PhD) is required
- Knowledge and experience in power semiconductors and physics of electronic components
- Practical experience in semiconductor processes (including wet chemical processes)
- Experience in cleanroom environments
- Fundamental knowledge in solid-state physics and technology
- Deep understanding of physical fundamentals and relationships
- Negotiable German language skills in oral and written form
- Negotiable English language skills in oral and written form
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Wide Bandgap semiconductor devices
- Experience in chip process development and entire process flows
- Experience processing components in a research cleanroom
- Experience in electrical and physical characterization of components
- Understanding of interactions between processes and electrical properties
- Experience in investigating and evaluating new component concepts for potential and feasibility
- Experience in steering process flows and mask layouts
- Experience in patent legal protection of new concepts and ideas
