Job Summary

Electromechanic role in Cargill’s Food Enterprise division. Maintain and improve mechanical, electrical, and automated production systems. Hands-on work with production equipment; perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical issues, support morning production startup, and ensure equipment readiness. Carry out fabrication, welding, and modification tasks; participate in equipment upgrades and improvement projects; maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop. Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards. Requires a D.E.P. in Electromechanics or Industrial Mechanics (Québec) and a minimum of 2 years’ industrial/manufacturing experience. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada, 18+, and able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods. Proficiency in basic maintenance documentation software. Preferred qualifications include TIG welding, familiarity with labeling/packaging equipment, HACCP knowledge, strong communication and teamwork, and a safety-first mindset. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Required Qualifications

  • D.E.P. in Electromechanics or Industrial Mechanics (Québec equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing setting
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, kneel, stand for long periods
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation
  • Ability to work at heights and flexible for overtime/weekends/holidays with notice
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize systems
  • Support production startup and equipment readiness
  • Fabrication, welding (T.I.G. preferred) and modification tasks
  • Participation in equipment upgrades/projects
  • Maintain clean and organized workshop/plant environment
  • Follow food safety and workplace safety standards
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food industry standards
