Job Summary
A Restoration Technician II at First Onsite helps restore homes and businesses after damage, supporting emergency response and remediation work. Responsibilities include assessing damage, setting up drying and deodorization systems, carrying out water, mold, and asbestos remediation per industry standards, sometimes leading response crews, coordinating site setup, ensuring equipment, scaffolding, and safety systems are properly in place, communicating progress with the team, and ensuring projects progress safely from start to finish. The role emphasizes technical know-how, problem-solving, teamwork, safety, and delivering structured, safe outcomes for every space touched.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in restoration/emergency industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, mobile devices and relevant applications
- Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, and customers
- Knowledge of water remediation procedures per IICRC S-500 Standard
- Basic understanding of equipment used in water damaged environments
- Water Remediation Technician (WRT) certification
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Provincial Asbestos certification preferred
- Valid full class driver's license and clean driver's abstract
- Fit test and other safety certifications
- On-call rotating schedule
- Ability to perform material handling, lifting, climbing, and use of PPE including respirators and safety footwear
- College certification in environmental field (e.g., Environmental Technician) is an asset
- Provincial certification related to environmental health and safety (as applicable)
- Experience with dehumidification, deodorization, and asbestos remediation practices
- Coordination and leadership of response crews when required
- Strong safety culture and adherence to industry standards
